Tabu teams up with Akshay Kumar in Priyadarshan’s horror-comedy Bhooth Bangla; shooting underway in Jaipur

Bollywood fans have reason to celebrate as acclaimed actress Tabu joins the cast of Akshay Kumar’s much-anticipated horror-comedy, Bhooth Bangla. The announcement was made by Akshay Kumar himself, who shared a picture on social media featuring him alongside Paresh Rawal from Jaipur.

Sharing the news on social media, Tabu posted a picture on social media trying to hint at her upcoming project. She wrote, “Hum yahan bandh hain.” Tabu who was last seen in Crew produced by Ektaa Kapoor also commented on the post. It read, “Aaapka swaagat hai always an honour tabu mam.”

Bhooth Bangla promises to blend elements of humour and horror. A genre Akshay Kumar has mastered in previous hits like Bhool Bhulaiyaa and Laxmii. Tabu is known for her versatility and powerful performances in films like Andhadhun and Haider. And she is expected to bring a unique depth to the film.

The film’s shooting commenced last week in the culturally rich city of Jaipur. The historic locales of Rajasthan are expected to add a hauntingly beautiful backdrop to the film’s narrative. The crew has reportedly been filming in some of the city’s iconic spots. It is said to add an authentic touch to the eerie yet comedic storyline.

Directed by Priyadarshan, Bhooth Bangla is produced by Shobha Kapoor and Ektaa R Kapoor’s Balaji Telefilms and Akshay Kumar’s production house, Cape of Good Films. The film is co-produced by Faara Sheikh and Vedant Baali. The story is written by Akash A Kaushik and the screenplay is by Rohan Shankar, Abilash Nair and Priyadarshan. The dialogues are by Rohan Shankar. Bhooth Bangla is slated for its theatrical release on 2nd April 2026.
